伍綺詩 Celeste Ng

　　在賓州出生，十歲那年和家人搬到俄亥俄州，生長於一個理工科氛圍濃厚的家庭， 父親是美國太空總署的物理學家，母親則是化學家，父母於六○年代時從香港移民至美國。伍綺詩小時候沒想過要走上寫作這條路，但有文字天賦的她在10歲即在 兒童雜誌上發表首篇作品，當年收到的美金兩元稿費沒有被花掉，現在仍是她珍藏的紀念。

　　在哈佛大學主修英文時，曾想過從事記者或編輯等文字工作，卻從沒想到要當作家，畢業之際在導師的鼓勵下攻讀密歇根大學，取得寫作藝術創作碩士學位。畢業之後，她曾以教授寫作課程為生，也曾從事文字編輯工作。

　 　2012年，她的短篇故事Girls at Play獲得美國文學獎項「手推車獎」（Pushcart Prize）的肯定，許多短篇作品也受到國際媒體的關注。她花了六年時間撰寫第一本長篇小說《無聲告白》，以第三人稱的全知觀點敘事，述說一個家庭中，夫 妻、父母、子女以及兄弟姐妹之間的微妙關係，他們又是如何為了其他家人而犧牲部分的自我，卻選擇把愛埋沒在生活的縫隙之中，直到那些沒說出的話讓他們感到 窒息為止。

　　身為一位小說家，伍綺詩堅信不論是現今或是將來、紙本或是電子書，閱讀小說為符合人類本性的活動；而每一種形式上的寫作都是移情的舉動，作家試著想像自己鑽進另一個人的心靈以及皮膚。近期成為全職作家，正在撰寫她的第二本小說。
