When he teams up with his friend Sue Heap they work together on both the words and the pictures. Awards won by Nick include The Children's Book Award, The Sheffield Children's Book Award, The Nestle Gold Prize, The Stockport Schools Award and The Experian Big Three Award. In 2006 he was the official World Book Day illustrator.
